Alexi

Director, Producer, Editor, documentary short
Client: Elevate Youth

Alexi makes strides to graduate high school and pursue a career in fashion design at Howard University. This won't be easy: she lives in a single-parent home and attends a high school where less than half the students go on to a four-year university. Luckily, she discovers Elevate Youth and immediately clicks with her new mentor, Paul, who helps her find the confidence to pursue her dreams.

Elevate Youth (formerly Elevate Oregon) hired me to produce a documentary-style fundraising video for their annual gala. Production happened during covid, so I worked as a team of one to shoot the video in one day in order to minimize potential virus exposure. It premiered at Elevate Youth’s virtual gala which was produced and directed at MetroEast's studio hosted by the Blazer’s announcer Lamar Hurd. They exceeded their fundraising goal!

Alexi has since graduated from college and is still in contact with Paul <3
